| Serial no. 13712 indicates it was early on the production line in August 1926. This is the beginning of the JEEP engine. Car was in daily use until 1952, possiblyt by a doctor as there is no indication of hard use. Before restoration there was no rust, no body welds and no dents. All wood in perfect including the birds-eye maple steering wheel. It was professionally restored 5 years ago including all mechanical, interior, roof, paint, tires, etc., 100% back to original design. Paint color was slightly changed to add the 'off teal' below the teal which at time of production could be special ordered from the factory. This was a standard color for the Willys-Knight (same company) built with this same body style. It starts and runs like a new Whippet, which in fact it is. It comes with many extras: owners and workshop manuals, radiator warm blanket, tools, metal sales signs for Willys cars, original 1926 Ohio license plates, some parts and years of club magazine 'STARTER'. Parts easy to obtain as due to Jeep's still running and use of AUTOLITE parts during production. Moving so need to part. |
