Selling Tips:

Below are a few tips that you should consider when listing your items on our classifieds site. They are intended as a guide to help you sell more efficiently:

Select the most appropriate category/subcategory to place your ad in so buyers can browse to it easily.

Be specific in your title and description. A clear and concise title and description will produce the greatest search results for buyers based upon their search criteria.

Optimize Search Results: Although you will be selecting Model, Year, Engine, etc, with drop down boxes when placing your ad, duplicate this information in the description field. This will help buyers find your car. Don't worry, you have 2000 charcters to use (about 350 words).

Prioritize key information. Put yourself in the buyers shoes. What would be important to you if you were selling this item? Be honest and accurate with your description. You will get more potential buyers with honesty.

Indicate the age and condition of the item.

Add images to your ads, as most people are apprehensive to buying items "sight unseen". One picture is worth a thousand word. Take close ups of paint, interior, engine, trunk and all sides of the vehicle. Take the photo as close as possible to the vehicle.

Don't overprice your car, item or service. Comparison-shop other ads to see what others are charging for similar items or services. Vehicles that are priced right will sell fast.

Add a link to your ad that takes prospective buyers to another web page to view more photos. Or, businesses may want to link to their web site.

Respond quickly when a prospective buyer sends you a request for information.

If you sell your item before the expiration, place a "SOLD" indicator on the ad out of courtesy to buyers and to gain more exposure to buyers who may want to view your other ads that are still active.

Be aware of SCAMs. Buyers and Sellers should exchange addresses, phone numbers, etc, as the deal becomes serious. Talk on the phone and verify information and identity. Vehicles and other big ticket items are sold on the internet every day. Stay alert and remember if it sounds to good, it probably is.

Contact your bank and ask them the best way to make a transaction. Explain that you do not want to ship your vehicle until the bank is absolutely certain that funds are good. Talk to your banker in person!
